Where it all begins
STEP 1: RESEARCH + SKETCH
Researching and sketching logos is a fundamental first step in the design process. This involves brainstorming ideas and visual concepts that reflect the brand's identity. I use a variety of styles and formats, from simple typography to abstract symbols. Sketching allows for experimentation with different shapes and compositions without the constraints of digital tools.
Here I’m working to create a logo for a new outdoor sportwear company called Mojave. Each thought has the potential to spark inspiration and lead to something meaningful, so I welcome all ideas without judgment at this phase.

When logos come to life
STEP 2: DIGITAL DRAFTING + FEEDBACK LOOP
There are typically 3 logos that stand out from the rest, so I take them to be rendered and finessed in Adobe Illustrator for the client’s selection.
Finesse and refine
STEP 3: FINAL REVISIONS
I make the necessary adjustments to the selected logo based on valuable feedback, ensuring scalability and versatility across a variety of applications, such as business cards, social media platforms, and merchandise items. After making these refinements, I finalize the logo and provide it in multiple formats to accommodate different needs and uses.

STEP 4: FINAL PRESENTATION
I develop a brand guideline book that outlines how to use the logo correctly. This book includes critical information such as the required clear space around the logo, the defined color palette that reflects the brand’s personality, the overall visual theme, as well as the selected primary and secondary typefaces that will be used consistently across various platforms.
